Embarking on my Journey through college, I traverse with an open mind and a desire for new experiences. Upon my arrival at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, I encountered a multitude of wonderful individuals, who made my transition process seamless by providing me with a warm welcome. Soon after arriving, I began making like-minded friends within my School of Allied Health Sciences Living and Learning Community. As classes began, I experienced a rough start with adapting to the different class schedules and new teaching strategies. To counteract my difficulties, I began joining study groups and searching for tutors, which helped a significant amount in my transitional progress. As the weeks pass by, I find myself acclimating more to my unfamiliar environment, and it begins to feel like a new home. Additionally, my friends and I began a bible study group during the second week of school, and we are now at over 60 new members and climbing. Creating a safe space for myself and others also aids in making the college process less stressful. I am eager to encounter new experiences for the better, during my journey here at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
